style party anyone?

This was the look I wanted to achieve when I tried to do a Dooby Wrap. This slight curl was achieved by rolling my damp hair with large perm rods (the green ones), rolling the hair forward or towards my face, dry overnight and then finger style it in the morning. You know what i would love? A locked hair styling party. Where people come with their tools, accessories for the hair, scarves or head coverings, styling products, etc. to share how their style is achieved. Would you come to that party?

i was trying to style my hair for the next day and came up with these wild ties simply by holding my hair in two sections at a time and tying them together.

The curly ponytail or the ponytail after wearing a braid out for a week.

Dry Cleaning??

This is my new hairbrush for 'de-linting' my hair. It is a lint remover for clothes. I use it just like I would a hair brush. It removes the lint from my hair and leaves it lively. Kind of like 'dry cleaning' my hair. Here, i had just finished retightening my hair and it was well in need of a wash. After using the lint roller, my hair looked and felt clean and had lots of movement. I think i will use it on my hair at the end of each day. I like it. My daughter enjoys 'brushing' my hair too.

It's all about hair

I set my hair like this with a spritz of water or mousse it, cover my hair at night with a satin bonnet or silk scarf to reduce lint as well as sleep on a satin pillow case. I find covering my hair at night keeps it 'new' and 'alive' not limp and dried out. then finger comb it in the morning.
















Let's face it, when will you ever take 1,000 pictures of your hair unless you feel really great about it! You know you have days when your hair just won't cooperate. And then there are those days when it looks and feels wonderful on your head. Well, today is one of those days. So i decided to take full advantage of the photo booth feature on my MacBook.

Dooby Wrap

This is my attempt at a dooby wrap.








I put a stocking on to hold it all in place.



It didn't turned out like I imagined. I wanted a slight bend or curve at the ends. On the plus side, my hair was full of body and movement but stick straight. Perhaps to achieve the wrap look requires a two step process with locks. Such as first have the hair curly then wrap it right before showering to loosen the curls. Maybe, who knows.
